| The Game & Watch series, which started in
the early 80s, was a series of simple electronic handheld games (think
of the various handheld games Tiger Electronics released in the 90s). Most
people only now know of these classics games thanks to the Game & Watch
series for Game Boy Color/Advance and Mr. Game & Watch's inclusion in Super
Smash Bros. DX/Melee. |
I'm personally not sure if it was actually
called the Zapper in Japan, but the Famicom Light Gun obviously had a different
design than the NES Light Gun (although the final design for the Zapper
is nowhere near as sleek as the original one). Also pictured above is the
classic game, Duck Hunt. Both were released in 1985. |

| The classic edutainment game that was so
fun that it hardly seemed educational, Mario Paint sought to help develop
creativity and fly-swatting skills. Released in 1992 by Nintendo, fans
are still waiting for a sequel. |
Racing 112 was a "television video game,"
which essentially meant that you hooked the console up to the TV to play,
and the console already had the software built-in. Released in 1978, it's
name comes from the number of different combinations that could be made
with the various game-changing options. |
